About UIGEC

The University of Idaho Graduate English Conference (UIGEC) is an annual conference hosted by graduate students pursuing an MA degree in the English Department at the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID. Our conference encourages a variety of interests in literature and related disciplines including ecocriticism, technology, pedagogy, craft, linguistics, visual media, as well as a variety of literary theories. Each year we decide on a different conference theme. Each conference also features a keynote speaker or panel relevant to that year's theme. Our past UIGEC 2016 theme is "Ebb and Flow": Reading Time in English Studies and our Keynote Speaker was Washington State University's Jon Hegglund, who presented on "Everyday Extinctions: Narrative Temporality & Species Time."

A Graduate Conference is a great opportunity for graduate students at the university, in the surrounding area, and beyond to present their research, writing, and ideas to other students and faculty in their field and practice their skills as an academic. We are proud to host this annual conference and to welcome you to our campus in Moscow, ID!

Information on the upcoming Spring 2017 UIGEC Conference will be announced soon. You can check out information on last year's conference at the links below:
